From the Road to the Loom: The Story of MexiSyri
What began as a simple conversation between Aldo Benavides, a Mexican creative rooted in community, and Mahmoud Abdul Khsyaem, a celebrated Syrian fiber artist known throughout Europe, turned into a movement that bridges cultures through craft.
Together, we traveled the country for 4 months—selling our handmade goods, building relationships, and funding our dream one stop at a time. That journey led us here: a weaving studio and retail space in New York that celebrates culture, craft, and connection.
This is more than a store—it’s a creative crossroads where threads tell stories, and everyone is welcome.
